The OCEAN project aims to enhance maritime safety by developing assistive systems to improve situational awareness for collisions, whale strikes, and avoiding floating containers. Focusing on human-centered design, the project seeks mariners’ involvement in its development and testing. An expert panel will discuss the project’s goals within the evolving maritime industry. A webinar will introduce the concept of a Digital Shipmate to support navigators and invite participation in its design and testing, integrating human decision-making into maritime safety.
